Blogs have become a standard as a marketing technique in this modern internet age. It's time that realtors begin to realize the powerful marketing edge that blogs have. A realtor blog to sell homes and promote yourself should become part of your marketing plan.

Many FSBO sellers are realizing the benefits of advertising and selling their homes through blogs as a means of selling without having the high commissions they see going to realtors. House-for-sale blogs have become one of the latest rages in real estate. It's time that realtors begin their own realtor blog for the same purpose.

Conventional online information about homes for sale, like the MLS, tends to be limited, you find just a few pictures and limited information that's not personal. Potential buyers get little foresight for the properties' distinct personality, the surrounding neighborhood, schools, shopping, the community and its residents.

And while good realtors can offer such pertinent information in person, a realtor blog would best serve this purpose on the internet where many people are doing their buying research. You can provide postings about your listing's distinctive features, its neighborhood and local amenities that would be relevant to potential buyers.

Photo albums of the home and property can be added which expand on the few allowed through MLS services. Every special nook and cranny of the home and property can be shown. You can post a visual community tour with "geotagged" photographs showing precise geographical coordinates. And you can better describe the benefits of owning the home in your own words and those of the previous owner.

Your realtor blog can also be used to promote yourself as a realtor. You will be seen as innovative in your marketing and advertising techniques. This will give you a big edge on your local real estate competitors and a boost to your business. Realtor blogs are doing this for many realtors in prime, competitive markets.

A realtor blog is easy to set up. And the best part is that if you use Wordpress or Google's Blogger.Com, it's free. There's no advertising cost to a realtor blog except the time to write it and post photo albums and other pertinent information. You can post blogs over time with new information, interesting happenings in the community that might attract buyers, and photos of the home and property at different times of the year so potential buyers get more of a feel for what they might buy.

You can have one central realtor blog for all of your properties or individual ones for different sections of your market. You can also post a blog for individual listings. The potential benefits of your own realtor blog are infinite. It depends upon you, your realtor skills, and your imagination.

Realtor blogs are fast becoming the newest marketing technique in real estate. Now is the time to think about setting up your own realtor blog for selling homes and promoting your real estate business. Your competitors are thinking about blogs, now's your time to delve into your own blog and reap the benefits.
